MCO — Orlando Jetport at McCoy
Airlines began using this former air force base in 1961, working out of a converted hangar known as the Orlando Jetport. A proper terminal opened in 1981, sized from the start for theme-park crowds; the code MCO still comes from McCoy Air Force Base.

About Orlando
Central Florida city transformed by the opening of Walt Disney World in 1971, which turned a citrus and cattle town into a global holiday destination. Its traffic is overwhelmingly families and conventions.
Population about 2,100,000 at the game's 2010 snapshot.
Orlando is a leisure market: most of its traffic is going on holiday, which rewards big aircraft on fewer flights.
