Irkut Corporation MC-21-300
The Irkut MC-21 of the early 2020s is Russia's modern single-aisle jet, designed to rival the 737 and A320 with a composite wing and the widest cabin in its class, seating around 160–210. Western sanctions after 2022 forced a redesign around Russian-made engines and materials, delaying the programme significantly. It represents Russia's ambition to re-enter the mainline jet market with a home-grown competitor.
