Sud Aviation Caravelle-III
The Sud Aviation Caravelle of 1959 was a pioneering French short-haul jet, the first to mount its engines on the rear fuselage — a clean-wing layout copied by many that followed. The III was the main early version seating around 80, admired for its quiet cabin and elegant lines. It proved Europe could build world-class jets and shaped short-haul design for a generation.
