McDonnell Douglas DC-9-10
The DC-9 of 1965 was Douglas's small twin-jet for short-haul routes, with rear-mounted engines and a T-tail that let it serve smaller airports with little ground equipment. The -10 was the original short version, seating around 90, bringing pure-jet speed to regional routes previously flown by propellers. It launched one of the most successful and long-lived jet families ever.
