McDonnell Douglas MD-83
The MD-83 of 1985 was the long-range MD-80, with more fuel and uprated engines to fly further and carry more weight. It let airlines operate transcontinental and thinner longer routes with a single-aisle jet, popular with charter and scheduled carriers alike. Its extra range made it one of the most versatile of the family.
