McDonnell Douglas MD-11
The MD-11 of 1990 was McDonnell Douglas's stretched, modernised successor to the DC-10, with a longer fuselage, winglets and a two-crew glass cockpit seating around 290–410. It fell short of its promised range at first and arrived as efficient twins were taking over long-haul, limiting passenger sales. But it found lasting success as a freighter, with FedEx, UPS and Lufthansa Cargo flying it for decades.
