VFW 614
The VFW-614 of 1975 was a quirky German short-haul jet, unique for mounting its two engines on pylons above the wings, seating around 40. Designed to bring jets to short, poorly-equipped airfields, it suffered from being ahead of a market that wasn't ready and sold in tiny numbers. It remains one of aviation's most distinctive and rarest jetliners.
