The A350-1000 of 2018 stretches the A350 to seat up to 480, taking on the 777-300ER at the top of the long-haul market. It offers similar capacity with markedly lower fuel burn, drawing carriers like Qatar Airways, Cathay Pacific and British Airways as their flagship. It gives Airbus a strong contender in the largest twin-aisle class into the 2020s and beyond.
