Airbus A321XLR
The A321XLR ("Xtra Long Range") of 2024 goes further still, with a permanent rear centre tank giving it the range to fly up to around 8,700 km — enough for many transatlantic and Europe–India routes on a narrowbody. It lets airlines launch ultra-thin long-haul routes point-to-point, bypassing hubs entirely. It represents the furthest extension yet of the single-aisle jet.
