Dassault Aviation Mercure-100
The Dassault Mercure of 1974 was a French short-haul twin-jet resembling the Boeing 737 but optimised for very short, high-density European routes. Its limited range made it unattractive to most airlines, and only ten were ever built, all flown by France's Air Inter. It stands as one of aviation's most famous commercial failures — a capable aircraft aimed at too narrow a market.
