COMAC C919
The COMAC C919 entered service in 2023 as China's first home-grown single-aisle mainline jet, a direct challenger to the 737 and A320 seating around 160–190. Its arrival marks a strategic milestone in China's decades-long drive to build its own large civil aircraft and reduce reliance on Boeing and Airbus. Though still using many Western systems, it has begun scaling up with Chinese carriers on major domestic routes.
