Vickers-Armstrongs Viscount-800
The Vickers Viscount of 1953 was the world's first turboprop airliner, its smooth, quiet Rolls-Royce Dart engines and large oval windows a revelation after piston aircraft. The 800 series was a stretched version seating around 65–75, extending the type's huge commercial success through the late 1950s. It was Britain's best-selling airliner ever and a symbol of post-war aviation leadership.
