Lockheed L-1049
The Lockheed L-1049 Super Constellation of 1951 was the stretched, more powerful evolution of the elegant triple-tailed "Connie", a queen of the propeller-era skies. Through the 1950s it flew the world's premier long-haul routes, its graceful dolphin-shaped fuselage a symbol of glamorous air travel. It was among the last and finest piston airliners before jets rendered the breed obsolete.
