Bristol Aeroplane Company Britannia-310
The Bristol Britannia of 1957 was a large British turboprop airliner nicknamed the "Whispering Giant" for its remarkably quiet, smooth flight. The 310 series was the long-range version, able to fly the Atlantic nonstop, briefly a flagship on premier routes. Its arrival just as pure jets emerged limited its career, but it remains a fondly remembered high point of turboprop travel.
