The A319 of 1996 was a shortened A320 seating around 140, offering the family's efficiency and comfort on lower-demand routes. It became a favourite of both full-service and low-cost carriers, from easyJet to United, and spawned a popular corporate-jet version. Highly flexible, it filled the small end of the family for two decades.
