Airbus A380-800
Conceived to conquer congested megahubs, the double-deck A380 entered service in 2007 as the largest passenger aircraft ever built, seating over 500 in typical layouts and up to 850. Passengers loved its space and quiet, but airlines struggled to fill it profitably as the industry shifted to smaller twinjets flying point-to-point. Airbus ended production in 2021 after just 251 were built, though it remains a flagship on the busiest routes for carriers like Emirates.
