Boeing 737-500
The 737-500 of 1990 was the shortest Classic, restoring the 737-200's smaller capacity with modern CFM56 efficiency for thinner routes. Airlines valued it for opening or maintaining routes that couldn't fill a larger jet, and it sold well to carriers in Europe and the former Soviet states after 1991. It rounded out the Classic family at the small end, seating around 120.
