Boeing 717-200
The 717 of 1999 was really the last of the Douglas DC-9 line, launched as the MD-95 before Boeing absorbed McDonnell Douglas in 1997 and renamed it. This modern 100-seat twinjet was efficient and well-liked by crews and passengers, but it entered a market crowded by regional jets and never sold in large numbers. Boeing ended production in 2006, though the type flew on profitably with carriers like Hawaiian and Delta.
