Bombardier CS100

Bombardier CS100

The CSeries CS100 was Bombardier's ambitious clean-sheet 100–135 seat jet, entering service in 2016 with composite wings, geared turbofans and a spacious cabin. It offered class-leading efficiency but a bruising price war with the big two, plus development costs, pushed Bombardier to hand the programme to Airbus, where it became the A220-100. It stands as a technical triumph that outgrew its maker.
