Airbus A340-200
The A340-200 of 1993 was the shortest of Airbus's four-engined long-haul jet, built for ultra-long thin routes at a time before twinjets were trusted over long ocean crossings. Its four engines let it fly anywhere without ETOPS limits, and a special ultra-long-range version flew some of the world's longest routes. Modest sales and the rise of efficient twins made it the rarest A340.
