Boeing 767-200
The 767-200 of 1982 was Boeing's first wide-body twinjet, launched alongside the narrower 757 with a shared cockpit as jet fuel prices pushed airlines toward efficient two-engine designs. Its seven-abreast cabin suited medium-haul domestic and regional routes, replacing thirsty trijets and early widebodies. It began a family that would go on to pioneer long, thin transoceanic twin-engine flying.
