ATR 72-200
The ATR 72 of 1989 stretched the ATR 42 to seat around 70, giving regional operators more capacity with the same fuel-efficient turboprop economics. The -200 was the original version, quickly becoming a bestseller as airlines valued its low costs on short routes. It set the template for the world's most popular regional turboprop.
