Ilyushin Il-96-300
The Ilyushin Il-96-300 of 1993 was a modern long-range widebody, a shortened, advanced development of the Il-86 with a new wing, winglets and a three-crew glass cockpit seating around 300. Arriving as the Soviet Union collapsed, it struggled against Western imports and sold only in small numbers. It endures chiefly as the Russian presidential aircraft, a symbol of national prestige.
