Tupolev Tu-114
The Tupolev Tu-114 of 1961 was a giant Soviet turboprop airliner derived from the Tu-95 bomber, with swept wings and huge contra-rotating propellers making it the fastest propeller aircraft ever. Seating around 170–220, it flew Aeroflot's longest routes, including nonstop Moscow to Havana, and held records for speed and payload. It bridged the gap until pure jets could match its intercontinental range.
