McDonnell Douglas DC-10-10
The DC-10 of 1971 was Douglas's three-engined widebody, built for the growing long- and medium-haul market alongside the 747 and L-1011. The -10 was the domestic version, seating around 270 with two wing engines and one in the tail, popular on busy US routes. Early accidents hurt its reputation, but design fixes made the mature DC-10 a dependable long-serving jet.
